Home Care Nurse RN/LPN – Pediatric 4 hour flexible evenings

Pay: CA$32.84 – CA$44.96 per hour

Private duty home nurse caring for a child with medical needs:

We are recruiting a nurse (RN/LPN) to add to a nursing team caring for a pediatric client for one to two 4-hour evenings shifts per week. This job will entail providing 1:1 respite care in the home environment, monitoring and caring for the child with medical needs. Paid training is provided at BC Childrens Hospital to learn the care of Peritoneal Dialysis.

Shifts are flexible and can be scheduled around another job.

Duties include: medication administration, personal care, assessments, G-tube care, and monitoring and use of medical devices (peritoneal dialysis). The nurse may be responsible for the care of the child so the parents can have a break.

Care will be provided in the child’s home and/or surrounding community.

Qualifications:

  • Current ‘practicing’ registration with BCCNM
  • Valid CPR ‘C’ / BLS certification or better
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • BC Care Aide Registry for HCA’s
